Jean-Marie Ferte is COO of actia-telematics-services. He previously held the same role at Market-IP from December 2013 to July 2020.
Earlier in his career he was Group Manager Global Project Management at Verizon between 2007 and 2012, IT and Customer Service Director at MCI from 2000 to 2007, and MIS Director at WorldCom from December 1998 to January 2000. He spent 1998 as Technical Support Manager at Compaq, and before that worked at Digital Equipment from April 1989, first as European Unix Consultant, then as Corporate Unix Consultant, Unix Entrepreneur Support Manager and Technical Pre-Sales Manager, and from April 1995 as Enterprise Solutions Manager at Digital Equipment BCFI AB.
He began at the Université catholique de Louvain, where he was a researcher in physics and computer science from 1974 to 1976, a real time application developer from 1977 to 1983 and IT manager until April 1989, with military service in the Belgian Army in between. He researched nuclear physics at FUNDP in 1973 and 1974.
Ferte studied physics at the Université catholique de Louvain from 1969 to 1972 and computer science there from 1973 to 1976, taking a licence in each.
