TLDR

Jens Verbeeck is co-founder and CEO of Magics Technologies, a Leuven-based fabless semiconductor company developing radiation-hardened chips for space, nuclear, defence, and critical infrastructure, spun out of KU Leuven and SCK-CEN.

Overview

Jens holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from KU Leuven's MICAS research group, focused on mixed-signal ICs with increased temperature and radiation tolerance. He co-founded Magics Technologies in 2015 to commercialise research into chips that can withstand over 1 Mega Gray of radiation, operating reliably in high-radiation environments up to 1,000 times longer than standard electronics.

Magics raised EUR 9.7 million in a funding round to scale production and accelerate global growth, and ranked in the Deloitte Fast 50 2025 with 196% revenue growth. Key applications include nuclear plant decommissioning, nuclear waste management, and space.
