Jonas Vlieger

Jonas Vlieger is CEO of Alternatief, a role he took up in January 2024. Based in Haaltert, he states expertise in ondernemerschap and change management. He joined Alternatief in August 2023 as business development manager, holding that position until May 2024.

Before that he spent a decade at Sociaal Verhuurkantoor Zuid-Oost-Vlaanderen, first as coördinator from March 2013 and then as algemeen directeur from January 2019 until June 2023. He sat on the board and the daily management of HUURpunt vzw from June 2018 to June 2023, and was penningmeester of RWO ARA from January 2015 to January 2021.

Earlier he worked at Sociale Huisvestingsmaatschappij Denderstreek, where he was responsible for sociale koop en leningen, and held positions as a commercial advisor at BNP Paribas Fortis and a marketing consultant at Easydentic. He interned at the Vlaamse Overheid in 2009 during his studies and did holiday work at BD in 2008.

Vlieger holds a master's degree in political science from Ghent University, obtained in 2011, and followed several programmes at Vlerick Business School between 2020 and 2021.
