Jorik Rombouts is the founder of Rombit and is based in Antwerp. He led Rombit as chief executive from July 2012 to March 2020, then served as its executive chairman from April 2020 to December 2024, before returning to the chief executive role in January 2025. Since April 2020 he has also been chief executive of Techyard, and since July 2023 executive chairman of Made - A Global Innovation Studio. Between November 2014 and August 2018 he was an ideator at The Beacon.
He studied electronics and communications engineering at Artesis Hogeschool Antwerpen, completing a Master of Engineering in 2009, and followed this with a bachelor's degree in information technology at Thomas More University of Applied Sciences, obtained in 2012. He attended Klein Seminarie Hoogstraten from 1999 to 2006, in the sciences and mathematics track.
