Karel Fol

Karel Fol is the CEO of PatientSupportR, a role he took up in May 2026. He is based in Brussels.

He runs Karel FOL Management BV, established in September 2024, and between September 2024 and April 2026 worked as a sales and distribution consultant for Spirecut. He sits on the advisory board of the WE'RE SMART® WORLD Foundation, has been an external jury member at Karel de Grote-Hogeschool since June 2024, and has served on the business advisory board of epihunter since September 2022.

At AveXis, Inc. => Novartis Gene Therapies he was executive director and country manager for BeNeLux from September 2019 to August 2024, and general manager for Western European countries during 2022. Earlier he was country manager BeNeLux at Sobi - Swedish Orphan Biovitrum AB (publ), and at Shire Pharmaceuticals he was area director and general manager for Belgium and Luxembourg in rare diseases before becoming business unit director for rare diseases in BeNeLux. He spent a decade at TiGenix from 2001, moving from marketing and business development through sales and marketing roles to sales director international. He began at Stryker Orthopedics as a sales representative for implants in Belgium, then joined Sulzer Orthopedics BeLux.

Fol holds an MBA from Vlerick Business School and a master's in bioengineering from KU Leuven.
