
Kathy Lindekens
Kathy Lindekens is the founder and president of Bednet, which she founded in February 2004, and is based in Brussels. She has also been a founder of Kom op tegen Kanker since May 1989.
From May 2003 to July 2020 she worked at VRT as a journalist and coordinator of youth projects, and between May 2012 and June 2020 she was also a youth advisor there. Before that she served as an alderman of Stad Antwerpen from January 2001 to May 2003, having been a senator in the Belgian Senate from June 1999 to January 2001 and a member of the Vlaams Parlement from June 1995 to June 1999. Her career began at BRT/BRTN, where she hosted radio and television programmes from November 1976 to June 1995.
She studied at the University of Antwerp from 1972 to 1977, qualifying as a translator.
