Katie McCarthy

Katie McCarthy is Chief of Staff to the CEO at GoFundMe, a role she took up in September 2024. She is based in Chicago. She joined GoFundMe in October 2023 as Chief of Staff to the COO of GoFundMe and President of Classy.

Before that she spent just over two years at Pagos Solutions, joining as a Product Manager in August 2021 and moving on to work as Group Product Lead and Product Strategy Manager from February 2022. She worked at PayPal from July 2019, first as a Strategy and Operations Associate with Braintree and then, from July 2020, as a Strategy and Operations Manager in Seller Risk Operations. Earlier she was a consultant at Deloitte, interned in transportation at Grainger, held a Lend for America fellowship in 2014, and served as Executive Director of the Hoosier Social Impact Fund from January 2014 to May 2017.

McCarthy holds a bachelor's degree in Business Economics and Public Policy from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business, and began an MBA at Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management in February 2025.
