Laurent Marlein

Laurent Marlein is a co-founder and director of byNubian, which he started in January 2015, and is based in Gent. He states expertise in the Internet of Things, sustainability, renewable energy systems, data integration and management consulting.

He holds several concurrent positions: he founded Laurent Marlein bv in August 2023 and is its director, and in January 2021 he co-founded both Yetu Smart Grids and RSM BELGIUM, serving as a director of each. He also co-founded zelospark in January 2020, where he is a director. From March 2013 to August 2023 he was a co-founder and vennoot of De Dansende Kameel.

Earlier in his career he was a partner at Emerge-IT from June 2006 to December 2012, and vice president of professional services at L&C between June 2005 and December 2006. In 1998 and 1999 he was plant general manager at Tele Atlas.

Marlein completed an Executive MBA at Vlerick Business School between 1994 and 1996. In 1991 he obtained a BSc in economics from the Catholic University of Brussels and an MSc in engineering from the State University Ghent, Belgium.
