Lieven Janssens

Lieven Janssens is President and CEO of Eurogentec, a role he has held since May 2019, and is based in Gent. He has been a board member at Eurogentec since 2010 and served as Chief Integration Officer from 2010 to 2011, as Chief Business Officer from 2011 to 2016 and as Executive Vice President since April 2016. Since April 2017 he has been President of AnaSpec and of EGT NA, having joined the board of each in January 2016, and he is a board member and vice-president of Thymolux SA.

He has been a Vice President at Kaneka Pharma Europe N.V. since February 2008, having earlier held roles there as Business Development Manager, as senior manager for business development and marketing, and as general manager for fine chemicals and health food. From 1991 to 1995 he was sales and marketing manager for the Benelux at Sigma-Aldrich.

Janssens sits on the board of essenscia and was appointed to the board of BioWin, the health cluster of Wallonia, in June 2023. He studied bio-engineering at Ghent University and completed a doctorate there in industrial microbiology and organic chemistry, and holds an MBA from EHSAL Management School.
