Lieven Scheire

Lieven Scheire trained as a physicist before pivoting to science communication and comedy, a combination that has made him the most recognizable face of popular science in Belgium. He performs, presents, and writes at the intersection of science, technology, and humor.

He founded the Nerdland Festival in Ghent, which has grown into the largest science festival in Belgium, drawing tens of thousands of visitors annually. The accompanying Nerdland podcast consistently ranks in the top three Belgian podcasts.

Lieven is also recognized as a VAIA (Vlaamse Artificiële Intelligentie Alliantie) expert, contributing to public understanding of AI in the Flemish context.
