
Luc Gillain
Luc Gillain is CFO/COO, managing partner and business owner at FinFlag, a role he has held since January 2019. He is based in Brussels and describes his expertise as hands-on executive management, strategy, CFO work and operations management.
He spent close to eighteen years at Mastercard, joining in November 1999 as interchange and profitability manager and going on to head financial planning and analysis and business planning, to serve as European project leader for the Mastercard IPO, and to hold chief finance officer roles for Continental Europe, for Europe Products and Solutions, for the UK and Ireland, and for Digital Payments in New York. From September 2014 until March 2017 he was senior vice-president and regulatory separation lead for Mastercard Europe. He was also a non-executive director of Mobile Financial Services Holding (MFSH) from November 2014 to March 2017.
Earlier, he was a management consultant at PwC from 1998 to 1999, and worked at Citi from 1994 to 1997, first as a financial analyst and then as general services manager and business information security officer.
He studied business management at ESCP and holds a Master in Business Engineering from Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, after schooling at Collège Saint-Michel.
