Maria-Luz Alvarez
Maria-Luz Alvarez is the CEO of BELMA Technologies, based in Liège. She has held that role since March 2019, having joined the company in January 2016 as a project manager, a position she held until February 2019.
Before moving to BELMA Technologies, Alvarez spent much of her career in research at ULg, where she worked as a researcher over several periods: from February 1990 to November 1993, from November 1993 to November 1997, from June 2002 to September 2012, and from October 2012 to October 2015. Between November 1997 and June 2002 she was a research biologist at the Institut de Pathologie et de Génétique.
She holds a doctorate in biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Liège, in zoology, animal biology and cell biology.
