Mathias Wachter
Mathias Wachter is a co-founder and managing director of ibis, a role he has held since January 2019. He is based in Leuven.
Before founding ibis, Wachter spent nine years at Nuance Communications, where he joined as a research engineer in July 2007 and went on to hold the positions of senior research engineer, research manager for NLP and, from March 2015 to June 2016, senior manager of NLP research.
He studied at KU Leuven, completing a Licentiaat in computer science between 1997 and 2001 and remaining there as a PhD student from 2001 to 2007, when he obtained a doctorate in speech recognition.
