
Mathieu Wemaere is co-founder and chief executive of digit89, based in Brussels. He co-founded the company in September 2021, serving as chief operating officer until September 2024, when he took up the role of CEO.
Before that, Wemaere spent more than three years at Deloitte, joining as a junior auditor in October 2017 and becoming a senior financial auditor in June 2019, a position he held until March 2021. In late 2016 he worked on market expansion strategy with X-Culture.
He studied at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, completing a bachelor's degree in management economics between 2012 and 2016 and a master's degree in the same field between 2015 and 2017, with an Erasmus exchange at Maastricht University School of Business and Economics in 2016. His secondary education was at the Lycée de Berlaymont and the Collège Cardinal Mercier, where he studied economics.
