
Mathy Vanbuel is the founder of ATiT - Audiovisual Technologies Informatics and Telecommunications, where he has been co-director since November 1998. He is based in Boutersem, and since 2007 he has served as a judge for the Medea Awards.
From 2004 to September 2011 he lectured at the Media & Design Academy - Communication & MultimediaDesign, and from 1998 to 2011 he worked as an expert-evaluator for the European Commission. Between 1983 and 1998 he was head of production at avdienst.
He studied media arts at the Hoger Rijksinstituut voor Toneel en Cultuurspreiding HRITCS in Brussels from 1974 to 1977, followed by pedagogy at Hogeschool PXL from 1977 to 1979.
