Muhammad Falak

Muhammad Falak is the founder of hydrobox, which he started in September 2022, and is based in College Station. He also founded Scholar01, which he ran from October 2022 to September 2023.

He has been an assistant professor at The University of Engineering and Technology Lahore since January 2012, having served on its faculty from 2012 to 2018, and was an associate professor at the National College of Arts from 2016 to 2018. His first role on record was as an engineer at National Engineering Services Pakistan (Pvt) Limited (NESPAK) from September 2011 to January 2012.

Falak joined Texas A&M University as a doctoral student in January 2018 and was a PhD candidate there until October 2022. During that time he was president of the Geo-Institute Chapter Texas A&M from 2019 to 2021 and served in the Texas A&M Graduate and Professional Student Government from 2020 to 2021.

Since 2020 he has written columns for The Express Tribune, The Nation and DawnNews, having blogged for The Nation from February 2020 to November 2021.

He holds a PhD in civil engineering from Texas A&M University, a master's degree in civil engineering from The University of Tokyo, and a civil engineering degree from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore.
