Nele Jacobs

Nele Jacobs is the chief executive officer of faresa and is based in Maastricht. She has been Professor of Lifespan Psychology at the Open Universiteit since April 2016, and since September 2016 has also been a professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Neuropsychology at Maastricht University.

Her career at the Open Universiteit began in November 2005 as assistant professor of clinical psychology, a role she held until January 2011, after which she was associate professor of lifespan psychology until April 2016. In parallel, from November 2005 to September 2016, she was a post-doctoral researcher at the School for Mental Health and Neuroscience at Maastricht University.

Between January 2000 and November 2005 she worked as a clinical psychologist at RIAGG Maastricht, while carrying out a PhD project at University Maastricht on gene-environment interactions in depressive disorders from January 2000 to September 2005. She studied clinical psychology at Ghent University, completing her master's degree in 1997.
