Nico Nieuwborg
Nico Nieuwborg is CEO of nxtpro, a role he has held since June 2017, and is based in Ninove. Since March 2010 he has also been director of training and innovation policy at SYNTRA Midden-Vlaanderen, and in September 2025 he joined the supervisory board of HOGENT.
Between April 2020 and December 2023 he was a policy officer at SYNTRUM. Earlier he worked for the Vlaamse Overheid as a policy officer for sectoral policy from February 2007 to March 2010, and before that spent six years at VDAB, from February 2001, as an instructor.
He holds a licentiaat from KU Leuven and completed the Take the lead programme in digital transformation leadership at Vlerick Business School in 2019. He attended secondary school at the Sint-Aloysiuscollege in Ninove.
