
Nicolas Verstraete
Nicolas Verstraete is a co-founder of next-mobility, a role he has held since April 2019, and works from Brussels. Since April 2017 he has also been an independent consultant in mobility and operations with Work Together. His stated areas of expertise are sustainability, government, mobility management, operations management and mobility.
Between April 2021 and June 2024 he worked at the cabinet of Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Mobility Georges Gilkinet, first as a policy advisor and then, from October 2023, as an expert. Earlier he was chief operating officer at Commuty from May 2017 to March 2019, and co-founded ECOYO in February 2016. He spent from July 2011 to January 2016 at ENGIE in strategy, energy economics and risk advisory, as a market analyst and then a senior analyst, having previously been a short term portfolio manager at Electrabel and, from September 2007, a consultant at Tractebel Engineering - Suez.
He studied engineering at the Université catholique de Louvain from 2001 to 2007, qualifying as a civil engineer in applied mathematics.
