Pascal Lava

Pascal Lava is the CEO of MatchID - Metrology beyond colors, a position he has held since January 2019. He is based in Gent and co-founded the company in May 2015, remaining a co-founder alongside his role as CEO.

Between September 2014 and September 2024 he was a visiting professor at the University of Southampton. He was an associate professor at KU Leuven from October 2013 to October 2016, and before that taught as a docent at KaHo Sint-Lieven (Association KULeuven) from January 2008 to September 2013. From May 2006 to January 2008 he worked at ArcelorMittal as a business intelligence analyst.

Lava carried out doctoral research in nuclear physics at Ghent University from 2002 to 2006, obtaining a doctorate in physics. He also holds a master's degree in mathematics from Ghent University, completed in 2002, and attended Sint-Jozefscollege Tielt.
