
Peter Clercq
Peter Clercq is chief executive officer of Quantessence, a role he has held since December 2014. He is based in London.
Before that he was a managing director at Barclays Capital from May 2006 to July 2014, and an executive director at Goldman Sachs from January 2003 to April 2006. He was a director at J.P. Morgan from January 1991 to July 1992 and again from 1993 to 2003, with a period as a programme officer at UNDP from 1992 to 1993 in between. He began his career in fixed income trading at KBC Bank & Verzekering (Kredietbank) from 1988 to 1991, following service as a second lieutenant in the Belgian Army from September 1987 to October 1988.
Clercq studied philology with a major in English at KU Leuven, graduating in 1985, then took a diploma in business administration at the Université catholique de Louvain and a maîtrise in business administration and finance at the Louvain School of Management.
