Peter Hernou
Peter Hernou is a Belgian business owner who founded aeralab in 2018, where he continues to run the business. In July 2026 he founded phmenu.studio, where he is creative director. His stated areas of expertise are product R&D, specialty coffee, chocolate drinks, coffee consultancy and barista training.
He has worked as a business specialist under his own name at www.peterhernou.com since 2007, and in 2012 he wrote the book Latte Arte. He has been a Callebaut Ambassador since January 2014, and in June 2014 the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe recognised him as The Passionated Educator 2014. He served as an MC and judge for the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe from 2007 to October 2021, and between October 2012 and June 2014 he wrote a column for CittA. Before that, from 2003 to 2007, he owned his own diner.
Hernou was Belgian Latte Art Champion in 2007, 2008 and 2009, and World Latte Art Champion in 2009 and 2010.
