
Peter Hoekstra
Peter Hoekstra is a co-founder of ecomoni and is based in North Holland. He has worked at De Nederlandsche Bank since November 2008, first as a senior policy advisor and project leader until December 2012, then as a senior supervisor from January 2013, a role he still holds, and he was also Innovation Officer between March and December 2019.
Before joining De Nederlandsche Bank, Hoekstra spent seven years at the Ministry of Finance, as Senior Inspector of the Budget from May 2001 and as a deputy project manager from February 2007 to October 2008. He began his career at the Ministry of Social Affairs, where he worked as an economist and policy officer from 1999 to 2001.
Hoekstra studied economics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam from 1993 to 1998, graduating as Drs., and followed this with a post-doctoral programme in economic policy at Bofeb in 1998 and 1999. He is enrolled in the Opleiding Commissaris Publieke Sector at Public Academy from February to June 2026.
