
Pierre Dupont is the founder of DNAlytics, which he started in April 2012, and is based in Ottignies. Since September 2001 he has been a full professor at the Université catholique de Louvain, where he also served as vice-dean in charge of admissions from February 2012 to August 2018.
Before returning to Louvain, Dupont was an associate professor at the Université de Saint-Etienne in France from September 1997 to August 2001, following a postdoctoral year at Carnegie Mellon University between August 1996 and August 1997. He began his career as a research scientist at Philips Research Laboratory Belgium from September 1988 to August 1991, and was a research engineer at Orange from January 1992 to June 1996.
He earned a master's degree in electrical engineering at the Université catholique de Louvain between 1983 and 1988, and a Ph.D. in computer science at Télécom Paris between 1992 and 1996.
