
Pierre Vandepapeliere is chief executive officer of Amyl Therapeutics, a role he has held since November 2020. He has also worked since October 2012 as a consultant in vaccine and therapeutic vaccine development at Vaccibio consulting.
He was chief executive officer of Imcyse SA from February 2015 to August 2019 and its chief medical officer from February 2016 to November 2019. Before that he was vice president and chief medical officer at Abivax from March 2014 to February 2015, and vice-president and chief medical officer at NEOVACS SA from June 2008 to March 2015. He began his recorded career at GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals, where he was director of clinical RD from 1990 to 2002 and then head of exploratory clinical RD until 2008.
Vandepapeliere studied at the Université de Namur and took a Doctor of Medicine at the Université catholique de Louvain in 1984. He studied tropical medicine at the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp from 2004 to 2005 and completed a PhD in biomedical sciences at Ghent University, on therapeutic vaccines for chronic infectious diseases, in 2008.
