Rafael Van Derton
Rafael Van Derton is the chief executive officer of Neveo, a role he has held since July 2024, and is also an investor in the company. He is based in Brussels. Since September 2016 he has run VDM Growth & Strategy, which he founded and where he is managing partner, handling commercial and negotiation mandates.
From November 2017 to March 2024 he was chief executive and co-founder of Gin in the Box. Before that he spent five years at O-I as commercial director for the spirits and premium segments, from August 2011 to July 2016, and was a European account manager at DS Smith between March 2008 and August 2011. He began his career as an analyst in business development management in 2000, then joined JACOBS DOUWE EGBERTS as a key account manager from August 2001 to March 2008.
He studied commercial engineering at the Université catholique de Louvain and took a master of business engineering at KU Leuven, followed by an executive MBA at the Université catholique de Louvain and an MBA at IE Business School. He gives his areas of expertise as go-to-market strategy, negotiation, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning and international business development.
