Rahmad Dawood

Rahmad Dawood is based in Aceh and co-founded Croptic in June 2025. He has lectured at Universitas Syiah Kuala since June 2012, having also held lecturing posts there from May 2001 to August 2008 and from December 1995 to August 1996. He founded and chairs the Interactive Intelligent System Research Group, set up in January 2022, and has chaired UPT Laboratorium Terpadu since March 2018. He chaired the Telematics Research Center from March 2013 to December 2019 and the FOLU Center from December 2023 to December 2025, co-founded the ICT Coworking Space in September 2018, was academic chairman of the Multimedia Learning Center from 2005 to 2008, and was a researcher at the Tsunami & Disaster Mitigation Research Center from 2014 to 2015. He co-founded Kensai in December 2019 and stayed until December 2023.

At BRR NAD/Nias he held manager posts covering education data and monitoring, high school and vocational training, and higher education between 2005 and 2008. He was a senior consultant at Context Integration from 1998 to 2001 and founded Mitra Sarana Unggul in November 1994 as its CTO.

He was a graduate student instructor at the School of Information, University of Michigan, from 2008 to 2012, where he was a PhD candidate in information science, and holds an MS in computer science from Columbia University and a computer engineering degree from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember.
