
Salvator Vella is the CEO of ASTRID, a position he has held since November 2019. He is based in Brussels.
Before joining ASTRID, Vella spent more than fourteen years at bpost, in its AI division, where he was Strategic Marketing Manager from February 2004 to December 2007, Pricing Director from January 2008 to September 2015, and Director Product, Pricing, Innovation and Solution Management from October 2015 to June 2018. Earlier, he was CEO of DoMyMove from October 2001 to January 2004, an expert in e-Government at the Office of the Belgian Minister of the Telecommunications in 2001, and CEO of World Online Belgium from August 1998 to April 2001.
Vella studied civil engineering in electro-mechanics at the Université libre de Bruxelles from 1982 to 1987 and completed an Ingénieur Commercial at the Ecole Cooremans between 1989 and 1991. He returned to the Université libre de Bruxelles for an Executive Master in Marketing and Advertising in 1996, and took the Transition to General Management programme at INSEAD in 2012. He attended the Athénée Joseph Bracops from 1976 to 1982.
