Samuel Van De Velde

Samuel Van De Velde is the founder and chief technology officer of Pozyx, based in Gent. He founded the company in May 2015 and held the role of CTO until December 2019, served as CEO from January 2020 to September 2022, and returned to the CTO position in September 2022.

From October 2010 to March 2016 he was a PhD researcher at Ghent University, funded by the FWO, and between June 2017 and June 2019 he was a laureate of Netwerk Ondernemen. Earlier, in 2004 and 2005, he was an on-air videogame reviewer for Studio Brussels at the VRT.

He studied electrical and electronics engineering, taking a Bachelor of Science at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel from 2005 to 2008 and a Master of Science at Ghent University from 2008 to 2010.
