Sara Roels

Sara Roels is Chief Operating Officer at aaltra, based in Gent. She joined the company in December 2018 as a project manager and took up her current role in May 2022.

Before that, she was a production planner at Lavagraphics from September 2016 to October 2018, and in the first half of 2016 she coordinated the Stuyfhuis for VZW De Stuyverij. Between August 2014 and August 2015 she coordinated the children's programme at NV Zebrastraat, having previously worked as a trainer at Groep INTRO from February 2012 to July 2014 and as an educational worker at VZW Habbekrats from January 2010 to February 2012.

Roels completed a bachelor's degree in orthopedagogiek at HOGENT in 2010, following a year at KASK en Conservatorium. She studied project management at CVA, took part in the KMO Challenge at Vlerick Business School in 2016, and qualified as a Scrum master through NCOI Opleidingen in 2018, later studying business process management and functional analysis there. In June 2023 she followed a masterclass in operational excellence and lean at IFBD. She states expertise in operations management, operational excellence, change management, social skills and creative skills.
