
Simon Hiel is co-founder and chief technology officer of Karomia, a company he co-founded in January 2024. He is based in Ghent.
In 2023 he co-founded LiveCycle, remaining with it until February 2024. From September 2021 to February 2024 he worked as a consultant at BrightWolves, and between September 2020 and January 2021 he was a consultant with 180 Degrees Consulting Leuven. He spent July and August 2020 at Hasco Invest and the same two months of 2019 at DEME Group. From March to August 2019 he taught at STEAM4kids.
Hiel studied at KU Leuven from 2014, taking a bachelor's degree in electromechanical engineering, followed by a master's in the same field in 2018, a master's degree in business administration and management in 2019, and a master's degree in data science and business analytics in 2021. He completed the IB Diploma at Raha International School in 2013.
