Simon Willems

Simon Willems is CTO of Alternatief, a role he took up in June 2024. He is based in Geraardsbergen.

Before joining Alternatief, he worked as a freelance senior software engineer at Cochlear from June 2023 to May 2024. He was a software development engineer at Yunex Traffic between July 2021 and May 2023, and before that at SIEMENS Mobility sa/nv, where he had joined in October 2018 as a parametric engineer and moved into a software development engineering role in February 2019. He was also a junior consultant at ALTEN BELGIUM from October 2018 to December 2020.

Willems studied electronics-ICT at Hogeschool Odisee from 2012 to 2016, completing a bachelor thesis at ON Semiconductor, and then took a Master of Science in Engineering in industrial engineering electronics at KU Leuven from 2016 to 2018, carrying out his master thesis at Televic Rail.
