
Teo Ortega is the founder and chief executive of family, where he leads product and platform strategy. Based in Madrid, he took up the role at family.cards in April 2022, the same month he began a period as entrepreneur in residence at Antler, which ran until September 2022.
Before that he was chief product officer at Citibox - smart services from September 2019 to September 2021. He co-founded koko in April 2018 and served as its co-chief executive until May 2019; the company was acquired by Flash/circ. Ortega began his career in product management, working at InfoJobs.net from January 2008 to June 2010 and at Softonic.com from June 2010 to March 2013. He studied at Brunel University of London, completing a master's degree in distributed systems engineering (computer science) between 2003 and 2005.
