Thibauld Jongen

Thibauld Jongen is the chief executive of Common Sense Robotics, which he co-founded in March 2024, and is based in Leuven. Since May 2024 he has also sat on the board of directors of Adra, the AI-Data-Robotics-Association. He states expertise in strategy, management and business development.

He joined SABCA in May 2016 as chief executive officer, holding the post until April 2024, and served on its board from May 2016 to June 2024. Between September 2020 and June 2024 he was also a board member of Orizio Group and of Sabena Aerospace. Earlier, at Safran Aero Boosters, he was sales and strategy director for Cenco International from 2003 to 2010 and then its managing director until May 2016. From 1998 to 2003 he was corporate R&D programme director at Unilever.

He studied applied mathematics and philosophy at the Université catholique de Louvain, then fluid mechanics at Delft University of Technology and the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics, and took a PhD in computational fluid dynamics at EPFL in 1997.
