Thierry Genten

Thierry Genten is the founder of ICTSafe, based in Liège, and has led the company since February 2020. He combines this with two ongoing roles at CHR de la Citadelle - Liège, where he has been a security adviser since July 2012 and data protection officer since October 2017.

His career at CHR de la Citadelle - Liège began in March 1993 as an IT assistant. He became a junior programmer in 1996, then worked as a junior and senior analyst-programmer until 2003, as an Oracle database administrator until 2007, and as head of information system security from June 2007 to October 2017. Before that he taught computing at I.P.E.S Seraing from September 1992 to March 1993, having worked in computer sales at GB-INNO BM from 1986.

He obtained a graduat in business computing at I.P.E.S Seraing between 1991 and 1994, an interuniversity certificate in information systems security management at Ichec Brussels Management School in 2008-2009, and an interuniversity certificate in personal data protection at the Université de Namur in 2017-2018.
