Thomas Vande Casteele

Thomas Vande Casteele is the co-founder and chief executive of Awell Health, a role he has held since February 2016. He is based in Brussels. Since July 2022 he has also been a co-author of CareOps.

Before Awell Health, he co-founded Comparatio.be, where he was a non-executive director from September 2010 to December 2015, and Books-Online.be, where he held the same position from August 2009 to August 2012. In August 2007 he founded Bagazoo.com and served as its managing director until March 2014. He began his career as an instructor at Technische Universiteit Delft between 2001 and 2002, worked as an architecture assistant at Studio Sputnik from June 2004 to March 2005, and spent a year as a management trainee at InBev from July 2006.

He studied architecture at Delft University of Technology, graduating with a Master of Science in 2005, and took part in an exchange programme in architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2004. He completed a Master in General Management at Vlerick Business School in 2006. He attended St Jan Berchmanscollege.
