Thorben Burghardt

Thorben Burghardt is COO and CTO of ADB SAFEGATE, a role he took up in April 2025, and is based in Hockenheim. He has also held the position of EVP and CTO at the company since August 2023.

Burghardt joined LUCEBIT GmbH, part of ADB Safegate, in October 2010 as technical lead for smart metering, and from March 2013 to February 2016 headed operations there. In March 2016 he became director of service and asset management at ADB SAFEGATE, and from July 2020 to October 2023 he was VP Gate. He also sat on the management board of Metrima AB from October 2010 to February 2013.

He completed a PhD in computer science at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) between 2007 and 2010, and began the GMP programme at ESCP in September 2025.
