Tijl Van Mierlo

Tijl Van Mierlo is a co-founder of blindspot, a role he has held since January 2025, and is based in Kontich. Since September 2020 he has also taught contact lenses as a lecturer at Odisee, where he studied from 2013 to 2016.

From March 2024 to November 2025 he was an area sales manager at Hoya Vision Care, having previously spent three years as professional relations manager for the Benelux at Bausch + Lomb Benelux from March 2021. Before that he was account manager for Belgium at mark'ennovy between January 2020 and February 2021.

His earlier career was in optometry practice. He worked as an optometrist and contact lens specialist at Vandenbalck Optics from September 2017 to June 2019, and at Mr. Brown Specs & Beans, first as a trainee optometrist in the spring of 2016 and then as an optometrist from September 2016 to August 2017.
