Tom Plitz

Tom Plitz is the chief executive officer of Precirix and a member of its board of directors, a role he took up in February 2024. He is based in Brussels. Since May 2019 he has also run PHARMETIS - pharma counseling, which he founded.

Between August 2022 and May 2025 he was a senior advisor to Tribune Therapeutics, and from December 2020 to April 2024 he was vice chairman of the board of directors of RELIEF THERAPEUTICS Holding AG. He was chief executive officer of CHORD Therapeutics from August 2020 to April 2022, and chief scientific officer of Wilson Therapeutics from 2014 to 2019.

Earlier, Plitz was senior director and R&D product strategy leader at Shire Pharmaceuticals, director of global clinical development at the Merck Group, and, at Serono International, associate director of product development and before that a clinical research scientist. He began his career in research, holding a post-doctoral position at the Serono Pharmaceutical Research Institute and, before that, a research fellowship and post-doctoral post at Klinikum rechts der Isar.

He studied at the Technical University of Munich, taking a diploma in biology in microbiology and a doctorate in immunology and cell biology.
