Tom Van Steenkiste

Tom Van Steenkiste is the CTO of clouds-of-care, based in Gent. He joined the company in June 2021 as Head of Development and moved into the CTO role in April 2022.

Before that he was a data science engineer at Televic Healthcare from March to June 2021, and an AI research scientist at imec from July 2020 to March 2021. Between August 2016 and June 2020 he was a PhD researcher at IDLab. Earlier he spent the summer of 2015 as an Openlab summer student intern at CERN and the summer of 2014 as an intern at Solvace. At CenEka he was project manager from 2012 to 2013 and president from 2013 to 2014.

He studied at Ghent University, completing a bachelor's degree and then a master's degree in computer science engineering between 2011 and 2016, followed by a doctorate in computer science awarded in 2020. He attended Spes Nostra Instituut Kuurne, where he followed science and mathematics, from 2005 to 2011.
