Veselin Pizurica

Veselin Pizurica is the founder of Waylay and is based in Gent. Since August 2025 he has been Senior Director and Chief Architect of AI/ML Services at Vertiv. At Waylay he was Chief Technology Officer from January 2014 to March 2022, President of Waylay IO from December 2020 to March 2022, and Chief Operating Officer from March 2022 to August 2025.

Before Waylay he was R&D Manager at ONTOFORCE and VP Engineering at Awingu, Dacentec and Incubaid. At Motive he headed the Network Management Domain group and worked as an agile coach from 2010 to 2012. He joined Alcatel-Lucent in 1999 as a software developer and went on to hold roles there as technical product manager for Home Access and Support Systems, project manager, technical product manager for Home Device Manager, and R&D Manager, remaining until January 2012.

He was a research assistant at the University of Novi Sad from 1995 to 1997, and then a PhD student and researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, working on pattern recognition and signal and image/video processing. He holds a diploma degree in electrical engineering, specialising in electronics and telecommunications, from Univerzitet u Novom Sadu.
