Wannes Groote

Wannes Groote is a co-founder of Leap Technologies, a role he has held since July 2022. He is based in Gent.

Before that he spent five years at Ghent University, first as a researcher and PhD candidate from August 2017 to October 2021 and then as a postdoctoral researcher until August 2022. Earlier he completed an internship at BASF in mid-2017 and an internship at Universidad de San Buenaventura between July and September 2016.

He obtained his PhD in electromechanical engineering at Ghent University in October 2021. He also holds a master's degree in industrial systems and operations research engineering and a master's degree in electromechanical engineering, control engineering and automation, both from Ghent University, and a master's degree in automatic control from Grenoble INP - Ense3. He followed a transition programme in the bachelor of electromechanical engineering at Ghent University after completing a bachelor's degree in electromechanical engineering technology, automation, at KU Leuven Ghent Campus.
