Wesly Jacobs is the co-founder and business leader of PrintPlace, a company he has run since March 2016 and which is based in Brussels.
From November 2019 to April 2023 he worked at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel as a business developer for metal additive manufacturing and smart monitoring systems, and between January 2020 and January 2022 he sat on the steering committee of Flam3D. Before that he spent four years at Materialise, joining in February 2015 in business development for the medical segment in APAC and moving in November 2015 to project management in additive manufacturing, a role he held until November 2019.
Jacobs studied at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, completing a Master of Science as a commercial engineer in 2014 and a postgraduate programme in China business development and modern Chinese in 2015. In 2019 he took the MIT xPro course in additive manufacturing for innovative design and production. During his studies he held the offices of president, vice-president and secretary of Promeco VUB between September 2009 and July 2014.
