Background

Alexander Saverys leads CMB.TECH, the company that emerged from the Saverys family's takeover of Euronav and the integration with Compagnie Maritime Belge's clean fuel and tech assets. The renamed CMB.TECH took effect on 1 October 2024 and is listed on Euronext Brussels and NYSE under CMBT, and on Euronext Oslo Børs under CMBTO. He works alongside his brother Ludovic Saverys, who serves as CFO of the same group.

Under Alexander's leadership, CMB.TECH operates around 250 vessels across dry bulk, crude oil tankers, chemical tankers, container vessels, and offshore wind support, while developing hydrogen and ammonia-powered ships and the production and supply of green fuels. The combined business sits in the Antwerp CleanTech & Energy and Deep Tech & Hardware cluster as one of the country's largest listed industrial operators.
