The need for the outside-in perspective is not theoretical: Discovery, comparison, and early evaluation now begin in AI-assisted environments. Direct engagement often comes later.
Machine readability, semantic consistency, and GEO fundamentals are therefore not isolated technical concerns. They are part of the API program's maturity.
Every gap in terminology, navigation, accessibility, or commercial context increases the cost of discovery for humans and weakens the signals available to AI-search systems.
So the strategic question is: are your API capabilities publicly understandable at the moment when discovery and evaluation happen?
