Depalletizing refers to the removal of products or packaging units from pallets, pallet boxes and similar tertiary packaging, including their transfer into downstream processes. It often marks the beginning of an automated material flow within a manufacturing system. 📤
Depalletizing is also relevant in pharmaceutical production. Packaged vials, ampoules, prefilled syringes and other containers are removed from pallets and transferred to downstream handling or processing steps. Their position, orientation and quantity must be detected accurately. 📋
Automated depalletizing systems combine robots, vision systems, grippers and conveyors. These components identify the load pattern, pick the required units and place them in a defined position for the next process step. ✅
