Should an OEM open its assets to every utility, or launch its own energy service?
It is the defining flexibility question for device manufacturers right now, and there is no universal answer.
Hardware margins are under sustained pressure. Solar module costs are down more than 45%, installer margins have compressed to single digits, and differentiation on the device alone keeps getting harder. Flexibility has become one of the clearest routes to new revenue and deeper customer relationships.
But enablement and becoming an energy service provider lead to very different places. The model that works for one manufacturer creates friction for another.
Beebop works with OEMs across both paths, from positioning to country-specific monetisation, through a single integration into a growing network of utility partners.
Our CGO Sandra Trittin lays out how to think through the choice.
