This summer, the Belgian day-ahead price climbed above 1000 €/MWh into the evening peak. Here is how one battery pool played that single day, described in the first person by our model on-platform, from the same dispatch data behind the chart:
"Through the sunny midday I charged on cheap solar, offtake down near 0.08 €/kWh, filling to about 224 kWh by 14:45. From 17:30 I discharged into the evening peak as the day-ahead price climbed above 1000 €/MWh, and at 17:45 I caught an imbalance spike near 1000 €/MWh. Buy it cheap, sell it dear."
