In a fixed-bed bioreactor, that number is impossible to know while your process is running. The only way to get it is to stop, break open the fixed-bed, and count what's inside, which means destroying it in the process. There is no non-destructive way to check.
What if you could get a reliable estimate continuously, from data the bioreactor is already producing?
That is the idea behind soft sensing in Antleron Nexus. We combine the process signals you already track, like glucose, lactate, and oxygen concentration, to estimate a parameter that is otherwise hard to measure in-line. The result is a live estimate of your cell density, with confidence intervals, without a single destructive sample.
But that is just the beginning. By feeding that estimate into a hybrid model for cell expansion, Antleron Nexus can project how the culture will develop from that moment onwards. This allows, for example, to predict when the culture will reach a target cell density, and plan transfection or harvest around that forecast.
