It was a pleasure to welcome Ken Casier, alderman for Innovation and Digitalisation at the city of Antwerp, and his team to LCL Antwerp.
We always appreciate the opportunity to welcome local policymakers and share what we do. It was a pleasure to note Ken Casier's extensive expertise in ICT and his clear understanding of its strategic importance for Antwerp. The Port of Antwerp-Bruges is the leading European oil and chemical cluster in Europe and at the same time a logistical hub for Europe.
An example of innovation is that drones fly autonomously at speeds of 120 km/h to transport urgent chemical samples between companies and testing labs. This cuts transit times from one hour by road to just 10 minutes.
Antwerp is a booming innovation powerhouse for many years, with Nokia, but also start-ups in the field of IoT and maritime tech. We're proud to be part of this ecosystem and support its growth with sustainable digital infrastructure.
